Update: The no-swim advisory issued Thursday for Lido Casino Beach has been lifted. Additionally, red tide cell counts have decreased at most Sarasota County Beaches, but the Florida Department of Health in Sarasota County reminds the public they may still experience respiratory symptoms when on the beach.

A no-swim advisory has been issued for Lido Casino Beach by the Sarasota County health officials. During water quality testing on Monday, March 13, the amount of enterococcus bacteria found was outside acceptable limits. The beach remains open, but wading, swimming and water recreation is not recommended when no swim advisories are in place.

Additionally, The Florida Department of Health in Sarasota County reminds the public that elevated levels of red tide continue to be detected at all 16 county beaches.

Health officials have resampled the water on Thursday, and results of those tests are expected Friday afternoon.

Meanwhile, cleanup of dead fish continues in city of Sarasota parks. Sarasota County is responsible for the maintenance of Lido and Siesta Key beaches, where the threshold for dead fish removal has yet to be met.
