Ruth’s Chris Steak House opened Tuesday in Lakewood Ranch.

The restaurant at 6490 University Parkway is part of CASTO's Center Point development and will be 7,016 square feet. Ruth's Chris Steak House is the country's largest steakhouse chain.

The chain announced it was coming to Lakewood Ranch in January 2022.

The new restaurant will include one main dining room, a casual dining room, a bar, and a bar lounge. The restaurant also will have patio seating and two private dining rooms that can be reserved for special occasions.

“The Lakewood Ranch location is our 16th in Florida, representing an exciting expansion in the region that further entrenches us in this area’s fine dining scene,” said Cheryl Henry, president of Ruth’s Chris Steak House, in a release. “We’re thrilled to continue to serve this community and look forward to more expansion opportunities in the future.”

Ruth's Chris opened its first restaurant in 1965. The restaurant was founded by Ruth Fertel in New Orleans.

The restaurant will offer a Happy Hour every Sunday through Friday from 4-6 p.m. The restaurant hours are Monday through Thursday 4-10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 4-10:30 p.m.; and Sunday 4-9 p.m.
