Strong homes sales in Lakewood Ranch have boosted the community’s ranking to fifth nationally among master-planned communities, according to mid-year results released by the Maryland-based real estate consulting firm RCLCO.

Lakewood Ranch had ranked 12th mid-year in 2015.

So far this year, Lakewood Ranch has boasted 360 new home sales compared with last year’s figure of 264 — a 36% increase.

Laura Cole, vice president of marketing for Lakewood Ranch developer Schroeder-Manatee Ranch, said product diversification has been critical for driving sales. Prices in Lakewood Ranch now range from the high $100,000s to more than $5 million.

Lakewood Ranch has been ranked a top-selling master planned community by RCLCO for the last five consecutive years.
