With the closing of Moore’s Stone Crab restaurant, many Longboat Key locals have lost their favorite go-to happy hour spot. However, there are nine additional happy hour offerings on the Key that are open to the general public. Which one will be your new favorite?
The Lazy Lobster

Happy Hour: 4 to 5:30 p.m.

In addition to its drink specials, the Lazy Lobster offers food specials, including $4 lobster bisque, $11.99 flounder francaise, $12.99 shrimp scampi and $12.99 veal parmigiana.
“We have a great, friendly staff that makes you feel welcome and like family the minute you sit down,” General Manager Erick Flanagan said. “With a ‘Cheers’-like atmosphere and lots of regulars, happy hour has been busy since we opened almost six years ago.”
Mar Vista Dockside Restaurant and Pub

Mar Vista also has an extensive happy hour food menu, with items such as tater tots for $7.99, peel-and-eat shrimp for $7.99, buffalo wings for $4.50, Punta Gorda wild hog for $5.50 and Terra Ceia clams for $5.50.
“It’s just a cool little place,” General Manager Anthony Cucci said. “We've got a nice bar, a great staff, good food, and we’re the only one in the Village for now.”

The happy hour also includes half-priced small plates and $19.95 entrée choices, including wild Scottish salmon, crispy pork and pineapple and fish tacos.
“We're very excited to bring this new twist to our happy hours,” General Manager Sandra Wooten said. “The price reduction on the entrées lets our summer guests have dinner at a reduced price, and also maybe some new guests may want to try us out. You'll get to experience the culinary delights at a reduced rate.”

The happy hour menu at Harry’s also includes several food selections, such as sweet potato fries for $7, shrimp-cargot for $13, Spanish tapas for $14 and Harry’s famous crab cakes for $15.
“It’s a nice portion for a good price,” General Manager Hal Christensen said. “If you’re on Longboat, we’re a resort-casual type of restaurant, serving very, very exquisite food and cocktails, but you can come in wearing your flip-flops and sarong and feel comfortable.”
Ciao Italia!

The early dining menu at Ciao Italia features smaller portions from the regular menu and includes soup or salad. Diners can order penne con broccoli for $9.95, baked ziti for $10.95, a 10" one-topping pizza for $10.95, spaghetti and meatballs for $9.95 and chicken parmesan for $12.95.
“It’s quality food at a good price,” owner Carmine Astuto said. “It gives some people a chance to come in and not get such a big meal with our early dining. We’re just serving a good meal at a quality price.”
Bayou Tavern

In addition to its drink specials, Bayou Tavern offers an early bird dining menu from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m. for $12.95, which includes the choice or soup or salad and entrée.
“We don’t have only happy hour for drinks, we also have early bird dining, so it’s a combination of good food, good drinks and good prices,” owner and chef Angelo Chiroli said.

Amore offers a happy hour bar menu and also a $25 three-course dinner menu with a starter, entrée and dessert.

Dry Dock does not offer any food specials during its happy hour, but its location and scenery make it a popular spot.
“It’s the setting and the ambiance,” Dining Manager Stacey Karis said. “It’s where it’s at that makes it so great.”
Chart House

Happy Hour: 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Specials:
Chart House’s happy hour menu also includes food dishes ranging from $4 to $7, including $5 lettuce wraps, $5 ahi nachos, $6 Kim Chee calamari, $6 firecracker shrimp, $7 fish and shrimp tacos and $7 prime rib sliders.
“We have the great views and patio seating,” General Manager Peter Van Beuren said. “It’s a casual, relaxed atmosphere.”
