The visiting Thunder fell to the Buccaneers in a Class 1A-Region 3 semifinal.

Caroline Dailey, Michelle Ramos and Alien Shea all earned singles victories for the Lady Thunder. Dailey and Ramos also teamed up to win No. 1 doubles.

Braden River 7, Venice 3
Marc Monroe and David Strohfus allowed two runs on seven hits while striking out eight as the visiting Pirates knocked off the Indians in 10 innings.

ODA 16, Admiral Farragut Academy 5
Scooter Friss went 2-for-2 with a double, a stolen base, two RBIs and a pair of runs scored as the host Thunder soundly defeated the Bluejackets.
BOYS TENNIS
Braden River 5, Booker 0
The Pirates earned their first state tennis tournament berth after beating the Tornadoes in the Class 2A-Region 5 final. Shagen Babayan, Mitchell Margolis, Michael Esteban, Matt Boles and Stephen Desch all earned singles victories for Braden River.
Naples Barron Collier 4, Lakewood Ranch 3
The host Mustangs fell to the Cougars in the Class 3A-Region 6 final. Freshmen twins Arnav and Arsav Mohanty and Drew Christianson each earned singles victories for Lakewood.
GIRLS TENNIS
Lakewood Ranch 4, Naples Gulf Coast 3
The No. 2 doubles team of Alyssa Corcoran and Jordan Yates clinched the victory for the host Lady Mustangs during the Class 3A-Region 6 final. With the win, Lakewood was crowned regional champions and will advance to the state tennis tournament.
TRACK AND FIELD
The ODA boys track team finished as the regional runner-up at the Class 1A-Region 3 meet at the Community School of Naples. The girls track team finished 16th.
Alex Gardinier won the 300-meter hurdles in 40.99 and Marco Rometo won the 800-meter dash 2:00.38. Gardinier and Rometo also won the 1,600-meter relay along with Chris Ragone and Nick Hepp.
The Lakewood girls track team tied for first at the Class 3A-District 12 meet at Booker High School. The Lady Mustangs crowned four district champions, including Alyssa Sherman in the long jump, Shanavia Jones in the high jump and Kaitlyn Wolfe in the 400. Kelsey Grimaldi, Megan Reuss, Tracey Spronatti and Devin McDermott combined to win the 3,200 relay.
James Fulmer won the 110 hurdles for the Lakewood boys team.
April 24
BASEBALL
Lakewood Ranch 5, Braden River 4
In their final home game, Lakewood’s seniors snapped rival Braden River’s 15-game winning streak.
Cas Dean pitched four innings and Ryan Lawler closed out the game to earn the save. Shane Davidson led the way for the Mustangs with three hits, and Aaron Ball added a double. Senior Nathan Pittman led the way for Braden River going 2-for-4 with a double, a stolen base and two runs scored.
