Every Monday and Thursday morning, the quilters and crafty ladies groups of St. Thomas More Catholic Church gather to do what they do best — create. The two groups, which were one group but eventually split due to size and interest, make everything from beanies for troops overseas, to dog-shaped blankets, to baby booties and caps. They sell these items at their annual baby shower.
Although the members meet at, and many belong to, St. Thomas More, anyone who loves to quilt, sew, knit, crochet or create is invited to join the groups.
“We have a really good group,” says Bonnie Lagner, head of the quilting group. “We have a lot of fun — everyone’s welcome.”
The quilters and crafty ladies are always taking donations of yarn and cotton fabric and have many items available for sale. For more information, contact Marion Gilleo, of the crafty ladies group, at 921-7670, or Bonnie Lagner, of the quilting group, at 921-1261.
