The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
BRADEN RIVER
Aug. 9
12 p.m. — 5239 51st St. E. (Braden River Park). Burglary to an unoccupied vehicle. The victim parked his vehicle and then went to go play soccer. When he returned, he found his passenger window had been broken and several items had been stolen.
HERITAGE HARBOUR
Aug. 6
8:20 p.m. — 500 block of River Crane Street. Possession of a controlled substance. The defendant was arrested after she was found in possession of schedule two and four narcotics without a prescription. She was then transported to jail without incident.
LIONSHEAD
Reported Aug. 6
9:12 a.m. — 4100 block of 57th Drive East. Burglary. Unknown person(s) entered the residence by unknown means. Once inside, the person(s) entered the attic and caused two large holes in the ceiling. Nothing appears to be missing at this time.
MYAKKA CITY
Aug. 6
3:51 a.m. — The intersection of State Road 64 East and Wauchula Road. Possession of a controlled substance. The responding deputy observed two white males approach the intersection while riding double on a bicycle. The bicycle was not equipped with any lighting, so the deputy conducted a traffic stop. One of the males was found to be in possession of Xanax.
PALM-AIRE
July 29
12:01 a.m. — 8400 block of Garden Circle. Petit theft. The complainant reported that unknown person(s) stole the hubcaps off the vehicle. She stated she and her husband, the registered owner, left for vacation July 15 and returned July 28. She said a neighbor heard people talking either Sunday or Monday night but did not think anything was amiss.
8:15 a.m. — 7900 block of Estates Drive. Criminal mischief. At about 8:05 a.m., the complainant reported someone ran over his cable junction box on the corner of Estates Drive and Cypress Lakes Boulevard. The complainant stated at midnight, he had cable but at about 7 a.m., he did not have cable. He also stated the suspect drove through his lawn and tore it up. He did not wish to report on that because the grass would grow back.
Aug. 5
4 p.m. — 7800 block of Palm Aire Lane. Burglary. Unknown suspect(s) entered the victim’s 2008 Hyundai Tucson while it was parked in front of the residence. Once inside, the suspect(s) took a GPS unit and then fled the scene in an unknown direction.
Aug. 6
11:30 p.m. — 4800 block of Palm Aire Drive. Vehicle burglary. The victims reported unknown person(s) entered the unlocked vehicles while they were parked in front of the residence. The person(s) stole a $125 radio from a Dodge truck and $20 from the Mercury. There were no witnesses to the incident and both victims stated they don’t know of anyone who would have committed the crime.
RIVER CLUB
July 30
9:15 p.m. — 6200 block of River Club Boulevard. Possession of cannabis less than 20 grams and possession of paraphernalia. The defendant was stopped for driving without headlights on. Post stop, the deputy noticed the smell of cannabis about the vehicle. A search recovered a small amount of cannabis and a pipe with burnt cannabis inside. The defendant admitted to consumption and possession of the cannabis post-Miranda. The defendant was released on a notice to appear. The vehicle was released to the registered owner, who was the defendant’s father.
Aug. 8
7:45 p.m. — 10200 block of Silverado Circle. Grand theft. The victim reported several pieces of jewelry missing from a lockbox in his bedroom. He stated that he confronted his son, who eventually admitted to stealing the jewelry because he owed money to another suspect. The suspect took the jewelry and pawned it at a Presidential Pawn in Sarasota.
SUMMERFIELD
Reported Aug. 6
3 p.m. — 6400 block of Fox Grape Lane. Grand theft. The victim reported that $3,600 was stolen from her residence.
OTHER
Aug. 8
2 p.m. — 900 block of Faith Circle East. Burglary. Unknown person(s) entered the victim’s residence by cutting a 6-inch cut in the screen door next to the door handle and unlocking the screen door. The person(s) then pulled the tape off the window to the side door, lifted a window shingle and unlocked the door. The victim stated that he, his wife and his granddaughter went out to dinner and noticed the damage when they returned. About $50 worth of clothing was stolen. The victim stated that he suspects his niece committed the crime because of a note they found.
Aug. 9
4:30 a.m. — 200 block of 115th Northeast. Criminal mischief. Unknown person(s) broke two windows and broke three screen panels causing about $600 in damage to the victim’s residence. The victim stated that 12-15 people came to his house and began breaking windows and tearing down the screens to their lanai. He stated that he, his brother and a friend went to a party earlier in the evening on Rye Road where they later go into a confrontation with several unknown individuals. After returning home, the victims heard several people outside stating they were coming to kill them. The victim stated the person(s) fled in a red Dodge pickup truck with lifted tires when he told the person(s) he was going to call the police.
