On Monday, Aug. 24, Rosanne Holton stood in the lunchroom at Imagine School of Palmer Ranch holding a basket filled with green-and-white tissues for the school’s BooHoo Breakfast.
Thinking ahead, this tissue queen made sure to bring enough tissues for mommies and daddies, such as Elena Giannini, who were sending their children to school for the first time.
“She (Sophia) is a first-time kindergartner,” Giannini said. “It’s been tearful. She wanted to go to school on Saturday. She wanted to go on Sunday. I’m excited for her, but tearful.”
Over at Southside Elementary School, Brenda Michel was trying to calm her nerves after she handed her daughter, Ava, over to her kindergarten teachers.
“I think she is ready for it and all of the new experiences she’ll have,” Michel said. “I told her to introduce herself to friends and not to be shy.”
