Nov. 22
Disappearing act
10:24 a.m. — 2300 block of Harbour Oaks Drive
. Missing Property. A woman reported that within the last week, she discovered that one diamond stud earring, one diamond-and-pearl earring and one yellow men’s dress shirt have or had gone missing from her condominium.

She won’t go away quietly
6:40 p.m. — 4300 block of Exeter Drive
. Disturbance. A woman was arrested for criminal mischief after she shattered the kitchen window of a condominium unit to get belongings she said her former live-in boyfriend was “holding ransom.” Neighbors told police they also heard her kicking the front door and yelling that her boyfriend was in there with another woman. Police had previously supervised her the day before while she took some of her things from the unit after she got into a physical altercation with the boyfriend, who asked her never to return.

1:16 p.m. — 4000 block of GMD
. Suspicious Person. A man watching people play tennis from his silver BMW was reported as suspicious. No action was taken.

Spill situation
3:55 p.m. — 1400 block of GMD
. Gas Leak. Police responded, along with Fire Rescue, to a report of a gas leak. They discovered that a diesel generator that performed an automatic self-test leaked 50 gallons of fuel onto a condominium garage roof after the pump switch to the generator became stuck. A roofing company was called in to remove the
fuel.

Waiting room
8:26 p.m. — 600 block of Bayport Way.
Suspicious Vehicle. Police responded to a report of a man loitering in a condominium parking lot. Upon arrival, the man told police he was waiting for his friend, a licensed massage therapist, to finish up with a client.

Gator grab
9:32 a.m. — 400 block of GMD
. Vehicle Larceny. A woman reported that someone stole her crocodile purse valued at $2,000 from the passenger seat of her unlocked car while she was inside a gas station paying for her gas. The purse contained a payroll check, her Social Security card, credit cards, a checkbook and $10 in cash.

Caught in the act

4:40 p.m. — Intersection of GMD and Gulfside Road
. Suspicious Circumstance. A fisherman was warned against future violations of a town ordinance that prohibits any commercial fishing activity on town property. The fisherman was discovered using a net to catch hundreds of fish while on shore.

2:46 a.m. — Off the Key
. Fishing Violation. A Longboat Pass Bridge tender asked a police officer to tell a fisherman that he couldn’t fish between the signs marked “No Fishing” on the
bridge.

Nov. 27
Stolen identity
10:11 a.m. — 6800 block of Longboat Drive South
. Fraud. A woman reported that someone used her credit card in Lehigh Acres to buy $785 worth of merchandise at Wal-Mart and $63 worth of items at a store called Sunshine.

Nov. 30
The curb won
1:31 a.m. — 1200 block of GMD
. Traffic Violation. Police noticed a man slowly driving in a silver Chevrolet and pulled him over after noticing his tires were shredded. The man told police he hit the curb at St. Armands Circle. A tow truck was called after it was discovered the driver’s tires, rims and oil pan were ruined.

Key culprit
11:12 a.m. — 5600 block of GMD
. Larceny. A bicycle-shop owner reported that someone stole two bicycles valued at $200 each from his outdoor bicycle rack. The customer who rented them dropped them off but left the key in the lock, instead of dropping it in the secure lockbox as directed.
