Dec. 8
Follow the leader
8:14 p.m. — Intersection of Gulf of Mexico Drive (GMD) and St. Judes Drive.
Traffic Violation. A man driving a motorcycle reported that a woman in a blue Honda was driving recklessly in front of him. The man led police to the woman’s vehicle, which was parked at her boyfriend’s house. When approached, the woman said she didn’t believe she was driving recklessly and told police she thought it was strange that the man on the motorcycle followed her from Bradenton to Longboat Key.

Dec. 10

Santa works in mysterious ways
4:15 p.m. — 300 block of GMD.
Fraud. A man told police that his credit-card company called to let him know that he had bought a new camera in New York. This was news to the man, who canceled his card after discovering the camera was sent to a town in Florida that he had never visited.

Dec. 11
Repeat offender
5:17 p.m. — Intersection of GMD and Bay Isles Parkway.
Traffic Violation. A man was issued citations for driving in a center lane not meant for vehicle use, driving 20 miles over the speed limit, improper passing, violating the right of way of northbound traffic and disregarding the safety of other vehicles and
pedestrians.

9:26 p.m. — 4600 block of GMD.
Traffic Violation. A citizen reported a possible drunk driver. The driver was located and pulled over for failure to stay in his lane. The driver had been drinking, but police said he didn’t meet the requirements for arrest. The elderly man was transported home by taxi.

Dec. 14

Bad breakup
1:38 p.m. — 5400 block of GMD.
Fraud. A woman reported that her daughter’s ex-boyfriend transferred approximately $1,000 from her daughter’s checking account into his mother’s checking account. The bank’s fraud department requested the woman file a report in the town where the bank account was opened.

Dec. 15
Demolition Derby
8:07 a.m. — 4800 block of GMD.
Property Damage. Residents reported that someone in a pickup truck squealed the truck’s tires and did donuts in a condominium’s landscaped area. The truck also hit one of the condominium buildings, which left paint and rubber marks on the building.
