Question: What is your opinion on installing roundabouts along the bayfront?

Donald Barney

“Those things are a pain-in-the-butt. But they seem to make the town look friendlier and more social. They are prestigious looking and pretty. Personally, I get lost, but I like them because they make the town look unique.”

Randy Hill
, Petals on Palm Ave.
“I think that would be a good idea. Some say no, some say yes. Think about the one near Anna Maria Island — that seems to be working. As long as people are safe. It does save a traffic light.”

Paul Passerat

“I’m European and I’m all for it. It is not dangerous like people say. On the contrary, it’s very safe. Look at St. Armands — it works perfectly.”

Frank Creaturo
, Creaturo Studio Gallery
“I think it’ll give a good look and help with traffic, if it’s done right.”

Corie Grelle

“I hate roundabouts. I say no. They’re confusing.”

Trez Cole
, Golden Apple Dinner Theatre
“Roundabouts work in certain situations, but not at Five Points. There is too much large-truck traffic for them to work efficiently here.”

Gunda Dehn
, assistant manager of Art Uptown Gallery Inc.
“I’m not sure how that affects pedestrians — how do they get across? That is the question I have, because I like to walk down there.”
