LAKEWOOD RANCH
Reported May 15
11 p.m. — 14200 block of Gnatcatcher Terrace. Burglary. Unknown person(s) entered the victim’s open garage and stole $426 in items. The person(s) then fled in an unknown direction by unknown means.
Reported May 20
4:10 p.m. — 6500 block of Anchor Loop. Identity theft. The victim reported an unknown person opened up a cell phone account in his name. He stated that he received a letter from collections in the amount of $364.79.
May 22
7:20 a.m. — 5500 Lakewood Ranch Blvd. (Lakewood Ranch High). Criminal mischief. Unknown person(s) vandalized the victim’s vehicle by puncturing the two passenger side tires with a sharp object. The person(s) then fled the scene. The vehicle was parked in the Manatee County Parks and Recreation tennis courts parking lot at the time of the incident, and the damage is estimated at $500.
May 23
2:50 p.m. — 8330 Market St. (Publix). Uttering a forged bill. An unknown suspect reportedly passed an altered bill to one of the cashiers. The bill was really a $5 bill, but it had been altered to a $100 bill. The suspect then fled in an unknown direction by unknown means.
8 p.m. — 300 block of Snapdragon Loop. Burglary. Unknown person(s) entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole a wallet and an iPod accessory. Two latent prints were lifted from the vehicle, and potential suspects were developed. The value of the stolen items is $150.
May 24
4 p.m. — 300 block of Snapdragon Loop. Burglary. Unknown person(s) entered the complainant’s back screened-in porch by cutting a hole in the screen. The suspect stole $40 of alcohol from the outside refrigerator.
Reported May 25
10:56 p.m. — 7400 block of Vista Way. Burglary to an unoccupied dwelling. Unknown person(s) entered the victim’s residence and stole about $1,015 of property. The victim does not live at the residence.
TARA
May 22
5 p.m. — 6602 Drewrys Bluff (Tara Golf and Country Club). Burglary to an unoccupied conveyance. Unknown person(s) used unknown tools to force entry into a parts trailer belonging to the Total Golf Construction. Once inside, the person(s) removed a saw valued at $1,800. Four latent fingerprint cards were removed from the trailer’s exterior.
OTHER
May 20
12:32 p.m. — 7365 52nd Place E. (Bealls). Retail theft. The female suspect reportedly entered the store and selected 13 women’s garments. She proceeded to the fitting room and concealed the items in her purse. The suspect then exited the store without paying for the items. Loss prevention detained the suspect and all of the merchandise was recovered. The suspect was issued a notice to appear.
May 25
4:50 p.m. — 7365 52nd Place E. (Bealls). Retail petit theft. The suspect was observed selecting a pair of shoes, putting the shoes on her feet and placing her shoes in her purse. The suspect then proceeded to exit store, passing all points of sale and failing to pay for the shoes. The suspect was apprehended outside of the store by loss prevention and later arrested and transported to the Manatee County Jail.
