The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
COOPER CREEK
May 14
11:30 p.m. — 8201 Cooper Creek Blvd. (Linksters Tap Room). Criminal mischief. The victim reported that an unknown person(s) slashed all four of his vehicle’s tires.
LAKEWOOD RANCH
May 14
9 p.m. — 11200 block of River Bluffs Circle. Burglary to vehicle. Unknown person(s) entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle that was parked in the driveway. Once inside, the person(s) stole three iPods from the unlocked glove box. The total value of the iPods is $800.
May 15
Reported 11 a.m. — 6000 block of Lakewood Ranch Blvd. Uttering forged checks. The operation officer from Land Mark Bank reported that an unknown person altered a check and cashed it in the amount of $2,123.84. The amount was reimbursed to the original account but now the bank is out that money.
4:30 p.m. — 5400 block of Lorraine Road. Criminal mischief. The complainant reported that an unknown person hit her backflow pipe with his or her vehicle and broke it. The complainant stated that the water company had already turned off her water supply due to the heavy water leak. She stated that she didn’t know who was responsible for the crime, and there were no known witnesses.
May 16
11:30 a.m. — 7650 Legacy Blvd. (Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club). Theft. The complainant reported that her purse was stolen while she was getting her hair and makeup done at the country club for her daughter’s wedding. She stated that she saw two cleaning people going in and out of the room. The complainant reportedly told the staff that her purse had been taken. She had not canceled her credit cards at the time of the report and was advised to do so.
May 17
9 a.m. — 5500 Lakewood Ranch Blvd. (Lakewood Ranch High). Burglary to an unoccupied vehicle. Unknown person(s) stole an unsecured bicycle from the back of a pickup truck. The value of the bicycle is $2,800.
Reported May 18
2:03 a.m. — 5500 Lakewood Ranch Blvd. (Lakewood Ranch High). Criminal mischief. Unknown person(s) reportedly damaged the fenced area that secured six goats and a cow. Another cow also was let loose from another fenced in area. Both cows were re-secured in another fenced in area after making their way across Lakewood Ranch Boulevard. The six goats entered a fenced in area on the east side of Lakewood Ranch Boulevard.
MYAKKA CITY
May 13
3 p.m. — 4600 block of 407th Street East. Burglary. Unknown person(s) pried open the rear door and entered the residence. The person(s) also removed a pad lock from the rear storage building, taking the lock. At this time there was nothing reported missing from the residence or the storage building.
OTHER
May 14
7:07 p.m. — 6106 63rd St. E. (Jiggs Landing). Possession of a controlled substance without a prescription. The two suspects were located and followed based on an anonymous tip that the suspect was going to sell oxycodone to another suspect at the 7-11 at Caruso Road and State Road 70. A traffic stop was conducted and the vehicle was searched after a K-9 hit on the vehicle. During the search, the responding deputy found oxycodone in a Life Savers container. The suspect was arrested for possession of a controlled substance without a prescription. The second suspect was also arrested for a warrant out of Sarasota County.
May 15
4:15 p.m. — 13200 block of State Road 64. Theft. The victim reported that an unknown person(s) stole her bicycle by unknown means and then fled in an unknown direction.
