Sarasota Foot Care Center, in conjunction with four local running stores, will be holding a shoe drive called Pair-to-Spare during the month of September. Shoes from Pair-to-Spare will be donated to The Salvation Army, where they will be distributed to Sarasota residents in need.

About 400 pairs of lightly used athletic and children’s shoes have already been donated. With a total collection goal of 1,000 pairs, a second shoe drive is scheduled to run during the holiday season.

Donation points are located at the following Sarasota addresses:

Fleet Feet Sports — 1830 S. Osprey, Suite 104
New Balance — 6573 S. Tamiami Trail and 8204 Tourist Center Drive
Sarasota Memorial Healthplex — 5880 Rand Blvd.
The Snappy Turtle Trading Company — 6615 Superior Ave.
