Jimmy Parsons (No. 1), Will Jay (No. 2) and Matt Boles (No. 5) each earned singles victories for the Pirates in the semifinals of the Class 3A-Region 6 tournament. Braden River then swept the doubles matches with the teams of Parsons and Anthony Simakov (No. 1) and Jay and Tarik Jenkins (No. 2) both coming out victorious.

Cooper Maxwell (No. 1), Arsav Mohanty (No. 2), Arnav Mohanty (No. 3) and Drew Christianson (No. 5) all earned singles victories for Lakewood.
GIRLS TENNIS
Lakewood Ranch 6, Winter Haven 1
Katherine Pyne, Alyssa Corcoran, Sammi Aiezza and Linsey Rechigal each one singles victories for Lakewood. The girls then teamed up to win both doubles matches.
ODA 5, St. Petersburg Northside 2
Caroline Dailey (No. 1), Jinny Rostarchuk (No. 2), Michelle Ramos (No. 3) and Cheyenne Kerekes (No. 4) each captured singles victories for ODA. Dailey and Ramos then teamed up in No. 1 doubles to clinch the match for the Lady Thunder.
SOFTBALL
Braden River 15, Dixie Hollins 0
Kaycee Wells pitched a complete game shutout for the Lady Pirates, allowing one hit while striking out five.
Lauren Powell went 2-for-2 with a triple, an RBI and two runs scored; and Ashley Allard went 2-for-4 with a double, a triple, two RBIs and a run scored to lead the way for Braden River at the plate.

Joey Meador had two triples and three RBIs to lead the host Pirates.

The Lady Mustangs powered past the Lady Pirates in the fifth inning to capture their first district title since 2003.
Kayla Schappacher hit a solo homerun and Rachel Slowik added an RBI in the bottom of the fifth inning to seal the victory for Lakewood.
TRACK AND FIELD
The Lakewood Ranch High girls track team captured the Class 3A-District 11 title, scoring 158.50 points to edge past Charlotte (155). Braden River finished seventh with 24 points.
Ayla Allen (triple jump), Alice Assenza (300-meter hurdles), Natalie Novak (800-meter run), Kristen Zarrella (1,600 and 3,200) and the girls 1,600-and-3,200-meter relays all earned first-place finishes for Lakewood. Braden River’s Olivia Moore won the high jump.
April 24
BOYS WEIGHTLIFTING
Tevin Bryant, who captured the Class 1A state title at 219 pounds last season, was the area’s lone top-six finisher in this year’s Class 2A state championship. Bryant finished with a combined total of 670 pounds. Fellow Pirates Chris Wong (119) and Ben Peacock (154) finished ninth and 13th, respectively.
Lakewood Ranch’s Steven Birakis (199) scratched on his clean and jerk, ending his prep career. Fellow Mustangs Mike Myers (169) and Kyle Carter (119) also scratched in the clean and jerk and bench press, respectively.
