The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
BRADEN WOODS
Aug. 3
9:33 a.m. — 9900 block of Braden Run. Open door. A deputy responded to the abandoned residence in reference to an open rear sliding glass door. Upon arrival, the deputy observed the door was detached from the frame and could not be secured. The abandoned residence was secure inside. Much personal property remained inside the residence. There was no information on a key holder to respond and secure the residence.
GREENBROOK
Aug. 2
1:59 p.m. — 6500 block Blue Grosbeak Circle. Stolen tag. Unknown person(s) obtained the victim’s boat trailer tag between July 28 and Aug. 2 by unknown means. The homeowner last pulled the boat Aug. 1 and noticed the tag missing the next day.
OAK RUN
Aug. 2
11:47 a.m. — 7300 block of Oak Run Lane. Grand theft. The victim called to report that sometime between July 28-30, unknown person(s) stole items from the victim’s jewelry drawer.
SUMMERFIELD
Aug. 2
11:29 p.m. — 6200 block of Tassleflower Trail. Attached tag not assigned. A deputy conducted a traffic stop on a listed vehicle because of its tag. The deputy contacted the driver, who said the vehicle belonged to her friend. She was unable to provide registration for the vehicle or proof of insurance. She could not say why the tag was not assigned to that vehicle. She stated she was having severe abdominal pain and wanted to go to the hospital. EMS responded and transported her to Lakewood Ranch Medical Center. The deputy had teletype run the VIN number and discovered it belonged to a man in St. Petersburg.
WATERLEFE
Aug. 2
11:50 a.m. — 10500 block of Winding Stream Way. Information. The victim has been receiving telephone calls from a certain phone number. He answered a few times, but the caller speaks only Spanish, and the victim could not understand him. The calls come at all times of the day and night. The victim has contacted his telephone provider to block his number, but the provider said it is unable to do so.
OTHER
Aug. 2
10:58 p.m. — 7300 block of Lockwood Ridge Road. Burglary (dwelling). Unknown person(s) entered the home via an unlocked side door. The person(s) then stole items valued at $10,000.
Aug. 3
9:20 a.m. — 8400 block of Shade Avenue. Burglary to a conveyance. Unknown person(s) entered the vehicle and stole items valued at $94.
10:05 a.m. — 5200 block of 33rd Street East (McDonald’s). Battery. Two individuals were involved in a minor vehicle crash that occurred in the drive through of the restaurant. The two moved their vehicles to the parking lot of the business and ended up getting in a physical altercation over the crash. One person later went to Manatee Memorial Hostidal for medical attention.
1:52 p.m. — 8100 block of Cooper Creek Boulevard. Burglary. Unknown person(s) entered a fenced-in circular tower at the location and cut several pieces of copper wiring used for grounding throughout the grounds. There are several cellular provider companies that had copper wiring cut within the grounds.
