+ LBK’s guitar hero
When it came over the New Pass bridge Saturday afternoon, it rose like a Phoenix on the horizon — huge and psychedelic.

It definitely was not one of our boring blue SCAT trolleys. It was much cooler than that.

It was Joe Perry’s Guitar Hero: Aerosmith Bus, the mansion on wheels, making its way from Perry’s Longboat Key abode at the Sanctuary and heading to Tampa for Aerosmith’s concert at the 1-800-ASK-Gary Amphitheater.

Too bad we didn’t have our camera handy. Last year, Perry was handing out “swag bags” to people who e-mailed cool photos of the bus to: [email protected] (along with name, phone number and time date and place of the photo).

Asked whether Perry was expected to be on Longboat Key after the concert, the Sanctuary guard told us: “That’s the word we’re hearing. He’ll be around a few days, but not the bus.”

Keep your eyes out. Perry has been known to walk the aisles of Publix. He should be easy to spot — wild hair, tight pants. Welcome home, Joe.
