Dr. Ira Abrahamson was appointed as the first chairman of the board, emeritus, in the history of the Cincinnati Athletic Club at the Past Presidents Dinner meeting Oct. 12. Abrahamson has been an active member of the club for more than 57 years. He is a former All-American swimmer at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame in 1974. Abrahamson is a retired emeritus professor of ophthalmology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
