7:56 a.m. — Intersection of Longboat Drive North and Fox Street. Public Service. Police spotted a utility cable hanging low to the ground across a street. The cable company repaired the line.
No free ride
12:40 p.m. — Intersection of Gulf of Mexico Drive (GMD) and Lyons Lane. Warrants. Police recognized a man with a lengthy criminal record sitting on a bus bench. He was placed under arrest for having two active warrants against him.

Removal process
1:53 p.m. — 600 block of Cedar Court. Gas Leak. Police smelled a strong odor of natural gas after a landscape company struck a gas line while removing a large palm tree with a shovel.

Ignorance isn’t always bliss
7:28 a.m. — 600 block of Lyons Lane. Code Enforcement. A woman called to report loud construction work being performed before 8 a.m., a violation of a town ordinance. The construction crew was warned and informed of the ordinance.

Wallet whereabouts
3:27 p.m. — 6800 block of GMD. Found Property. Bradenton Beach Police turned over a wallet that was found on Whitney Beach. The wallet contained $105 in cash, two credit cards, some papers and a Texas driver’s license. The owner of the wallet was notified.
Property rights?
3:58 p.m. — 500 block of Russell Street. Trespassing. A woman told police a gas-company representative was trespassing on her property two weeks ago when he installed a gas line in the alley behind her home. The woman wanted the incident documented, although police are unsure if the alley is her property or not.

1:57 p.m. — Intersection of Longboat Drive North and Fox Street. Soliciting. A woman was told she couldn’t sell magazines door-to-door on Longboat Key, even if she was in a contest to see who could sell the most magazines.
Ordinance enforcement
5:24 p.m. — Intersection of Emerald Harbor Drive and Old Compass Road. Code Enforcement. A construction crew was warned of an ordinance that doesn’t allow work past 5 p.m.

Wallet on vacation
4:36 p.m. — 5400 block of GMD. Lost Property. A man came into the police station to report he lost his wallet a few days ago in Miami.
Gone fishin’
9:38 p.m. — Intersection of Magnolia Road and Pine Street. Suspicious Vehicle. Police noticed a truck parked at a bay access point and made contact with the owner, who told police he was out fishing and would return later to move the truck.
