There’s still time to get into the holiday spirit. The Longboat Observer’s judges will finish making their lists of the island’s best and brightest decorations for the annual “Light Up the Keys” contest this week and deliver special stocking stuffers to winners Friday, Dec. 17. Also, if you want to brighten up the holidays for a child in need, drop off a new, unwrapped toy for Manatee Toys for Tots by Dec. 20, at The Longboat Observer office, 5570 Gulf of Mexico Drive. And if you’re in the mood for festive fun, stop by the seventh annual Cortez Yacht Club Holiday Lighted Boat Parade, which begins at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, on the north end of Longboat Key.
