How did you get into basketball?
As a kid, I always wanted to go to the NBA, so I started playing with an AAU team — the Suncoast Explosion — and I got really good. Now, I love it.
What do you enjoy the most about basketball?
Winning. I don’t like to lose. I like to win and play hard. I enjoy it a lot.
What is your biggest basketball accomplishment?
Making it on varsity last year as a freshman and being a leader on my team as a captain.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I want to make it to the NBA.
Do you play any other sports?
Next year, I’m going to play football because people keep begging me to, but basketball is the only sport that I love.
Who is your biggest role model?
My mom. She raised me as a single mother and always pushed me to do my best. Whenever she was going through some hard times, she would still always do stuff for me.
If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?
The ability to fly. Time doesn’t wait on anyone, so if I needed to be somewhere in a hurry, then I could use my flying (power).
What was your favorite cartoon growing up?
“Tom and Jerry.”
What’s your favorite subject?
Math. I’m very good at it.
What’s your favorite movie?
“Love and basketball.” It’s a basketball movie and I’m into basketball, so I guess that’s why I like it so much.
