Leave it to Temple Sinai to give its youngsters the first taste of edible dreidels and teach them the art of cooking such a delicacy. The scent and sizzle of hot oil wafted down the hallway as kindergartners, first-graders, second-graders and their families held a recent Hanukkah party, during which they made sufganiyot, arts-and-crafts and menorah handprints. Everyone engaged in menorah-building relay games, candle lighting and singing. To end the party, students presented to their parents star of David decorations.
