The Lakewood Ranch High boys soccer team saw its season come to an end Feb. 4 as the Mustangs fell to Tampa Robinson 3-2 in the Class 4A-Region 3 quarterfinals.
The Tigers (18-4-3) took an early 2-0 lead halfway through the first half. The Mustangs (12-6-5) responded in the 49th minute when senior Alex Martin scored on a penalty kick.
Tampa Robinson extended its lead again in the 59th minute before Lakewood senior Lee White scored on a header in the 74th minute, cutting the Tigers lead to 3-2. Lakewood attempted a pair of shots in the final minute, but was unable to capitalize.
