Braden River, ODA victorious in girls tennis

The Braden River High girls tennis team defeated Charlotte 4-1 in district action Feb. 22.

Marie Babayan (No. 1), Lauren Bock (No. 3), Aly Delrose (No. 4) and Karley Ward (No. 5) each captured singles victories for the Lady Pirates. The doubles matches were suspended due to the dark and the fact that they were not needed.

Braden River is now 2-1 (2-0 Class 4A-District 10). The Lady Pirates will return to action at 3 p.m., this afternoon at Southeast.

The Out-of-Door Academy defeated Cardinal Mooney in non-district action Feb. 22.

Caroline Dailey (No. 1), Michelle Ramos (No. 2), Cheyenne Kerekes (No. 3) and Savannah Sleight (No. 4) each earned singles victories for the Lady Thunder while Dailey and Ramos defeated Christine Warren and Aubree Callender in No. 1 doubles. The No. 2 doubles match as suspended due to a lack of light.

ODA will return to action at 4 p.m., this afternoon at Bradenton Christian.
