The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

BRADEN WOODS
 Dec. 8

12:30 a.m. — 9800 block of 65th Avenue East. Criminal mischief. The complainant stated unknown person(s) drove in circles on her grass and hit two of her palm trees. The complainant said she did not see who did the damage or get a description of the vehicle because she was sleeping at the time.
 
LAKEWOOD RANCH
 Dec. 7

5 p.m. — 8100 block of Nature’s Way. Information report. The complainant reported what she believed to be a financial scam. The complainant is not out any money.
 
Dec. 8
12:01 a.m. — 6700 block of Tumbleweed Trail. Information report. The complainant reported two individuals picked up her juvenile daughter. She stated her daughter has developmental disabilities and can easily be taken advantage of and not know it. She also stated the suspect has been told several times to stay away from her daughter because of her abuse history.
 
Reported Dec. 10
11:11 a.m. — 7200 block of Presidio Glenn. Grand theft. The complainant reported the suspect, who works for Elegant Concrete Engraving, was solicited to work at her residence. The suspect requested a down payment of $500, which the complainant paid with a check. The suspect never called or came back to the residence to start the work after two months. The complainant called to cancel the contract, but the suspect wouldn’t return the money. He reportedly cashed the check five days after the complainant signed the contract.

MILL CREEK
 Dec. 8

6 p.m. — 1100 block of 136th Street East. Burglary to a vehicle. An unknown person entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and removed a radio from the vehicle. The person then fled in an unknown direction by unknown means.

9:30 p.m. — 13400 block of Second Avenue East. Auto burglary. Unknown person(s) entered the victim’s vehicle and stole numerous items, including multiple credit cards. The victim said she thinks she locked the vehicle, but there were no signs of forced entry.
 
MYAKKA CITY
 Dec. 9

Noon — 700 to 800 block of South Duette Road. Grand theft $300 to $5,000. Unknown person(s) removed about 600 feet of non-insulated copper electrical ground wire from three power poles owned by Peace River Electric Company.
 
QUAIL RUN
 Dec. 9

10 a.m. — 4400 block of 74th Avenue East. Theft. The complainant reported the theft of his gargoyle statue. He doesn’t know who took the statue. However, he stated there were young adults hiding and playing around in his yard and the neighbors’ yards during the night.
 
OTHER
 Reported Dec. 9

4:05 p.m. — 3515 57th St. East (Bashaw Elementary). Grand theft. Unknown person(s) removed about $2,000 in items from a locked cart in a classroom. According to the complainants, this is the third theft in the past few months. Cash had reportedly been taken in the past from a cafeteria lockbox and an after-school cash door lockbox. There were no signs of forced entry.
 
Dec. 10
6:35 p.m. — 2911 53rd Ave. E. (Wal-Mart). Theft. While shopping with his family, the suspect unwrapped and concealed two Nintendo games and stuffed them into a diaper bag. He then proceeded to the front registers and failed to pay for the items. The suspect was then stopped by Wal-Mart security. The items were valued at $77.54.
