Lakewood Ranch High midfielder Sarah Miller scored nine goals in the team’s three final games this season. The Lady Mustangs junior led the team in goals this season with 21. Miller also tallied 14 assists while leading Lakewood to a 14-0-2 regular season record. Here is an inside look at this week’s Athlete of the Week.

What is your biggest soccer accomplishment?
A couple of years ago, my club team made it all the way to the Final Four of states. That was a big thing for me, because I had never been there before, and it was really exciting.

How did you first get into soccer?

We lived in town and then we moved out East about 10 years ago. There was this nice open field here, and my parents signed me up in second grade. And, then, when I began to like it more, I got into competitive soccer.

What is your favorite restaurant?
The Olive Garden. Whenever we get our report cards, my whole family celebrates there. We’ve been doing it for about 10 years.

What is your favorite subject?

Math. It’s usually because of the teachers. They always make it interesting.

Do you have any pre-game rituals?
When we warm up, Kaitlyn Wolfe and I are always partners. We always have to be on the end, and we always do the same exact thing. Then, before the game, I listen to New World Son and NeedToBreathe, which are bands that I like. I also pray before every game, which always encourages me.

Who is your biggest role model?
My dad. He really encourages me a lot and is wise in what he does.

Do you have any pets?
Yes, I have quite a lot. I have a dog, two cats, chickens, some cows that live across the road and three horses.
