Deputies keep eyes on school zone

The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office and Florida Highway Patrol once again will be enforcing speeding violations in a school zone at State Road 70 and River Club Boulevard.

A local judge ruled in September 2008 the signage and markings of the River Club school zone did not meet Florida Department of Transportation standards, a Sheriff’s Office press release states.

Improvements have been made to the school zone and it now is in compliance with FDOT. The speed limit for the River Club school zone is 20 miles per hour.
