JV Lady Mustangs go undefeated

The Lakewood Ranch High JV girls soccer team wrapped up its undefeated season Jan. 18.

The Lady Mustangs, comprised mainly of freshmen and sophomores, finished the season with a record of 13-0-1. Lakewood scored 62 goals on the season while only allowing six. The Lady Mustangs posted nine shutouts and allowed a single goal in four of their remaining five games.

The team will look to build on its perfect season next winter with some of the girls more than likely moving up to the varsity squad, which also went undefeated this season and is in the midst of playing for a regional championship.
