June 10
Road rage
12:56 p.m.
— 5300 block of Gulf of Mexico Drive (GMD). Reckless Driving. A woman told police that a man driving a silver Honda pulled out in front of her and proceeded to drive slowly. When she attempted to pass him, he sped up. And when he refused to move when the light turned green at Bay Isles Parkway, she honked her horn. He then waved an aluminum pipe at her from his window. Police stopped the driver and told him to obey the traffic laws or face the consequences.

Wait it out
10:46 p.m.
— 4700 block of GMD. Suspicious Vehicle. Police saw three teenagers in a car parked in a dark corner of a hotel parking lot. The driver of the car became defensive when police asked him what they were doing. He told the officer that the officer didn’t have probable cause to ask him anything. A hotel employee arrived to explain his roommate was picking him up from work and he didn’t want any trouble. No further action was taken.

Hand off
3:07 p.m.
— Intersection of GMD and Longboat Club Road. Battery. A man told police that a car with several occupants inside hit his hand while he was riding his bicycle along Gulf of Mexico Drive and yelled as they sped away.

June 23
Bad park job
10:27 p.m.
— Town Dock. Code Enforcement. A boat and a Jet Ski were moored illegally overnight to the town dock near Linley Street. Police attempted to contact the registered owners.

June 24
Loud talkers
9:54 p.m.
— 2000 block of GMD. Noise Disturbance. Police asked the owner of a condominium unit if something was wrong because loud noise was heard coming from inside. The unit owner told police officers they were invading his privacy. Police noted the occupants were loud talkers.

June 25
Tenant trouble
2:13 p.m.
— 500 block of Ketch Lane. Disturbance. A man told police that a 16-year-old was attempting to fight him. He told police the teenager, who is the son of two of his tenants, was causing trouble and he wanted them to leave. The tenants told police they were moving out at the end of the month. All parties agreed to stay away from each other until then.

June 26
Strange incident
12:51 a.m.
— 500 block of Ketch Lane. Narcotics. Police found a boy walking down the street in the middle of the night and confronted him. He told police he was looking for his brother, who had left hours earlier with a man who was staying with the family. Police waited with the family at the house until the man and boy returned at 1:30 a.m. The man was patted down, and police discovered a brown smoking pipe and prescription medication. The man told police he didn’t have any marijuana left. He was issued a ticket for possession of drug paraphernalia.
