Richard Rhodes, of Overland Park, Kan., sold his home at 549 Hornblower Lane in Country Club Shores Unit III for $1,783,600 to Turnberry Bank, which lists an Aventura address. The home, built in 2007, has five bedrooms, three-and-a-half bathrooms and 3,839 square feet of living area. It last sold for $2.29 million in June 2007.
In a second Country Club Shores transaction, James Kanthak and his wife, Marie Thimell, of Olathe, Kan., sold their home at 1070 Bogey Lane in Country Club Shores Unit V for $375,000 to Gerhard and Brigitta Stefandl, who list the property as their address. The home, built in 1968, has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and 1,539 square feet of living area. The house last sold for $290,000 in November 2002.
The Hornblower Lane transaction was the largest of the 14 sales recorded during the week of June 28 through July 2 on Longboat, Lido, St. Armands and Bird keys at the Sarasota and Manatee county courthouses. The total number of sales for the week, which included 12 on Longboat Key, one on St. Armands Key and one on Bird Key, represented a slight increase from the prior week, during which 10 sales were recorded. Three sales exceeded the $1 million mark this week.
The Water Club
William and Laura Wilson, of Roanoke, Ind., sold their Unit 604 at The Water Club, 1241 Gulf of Mexico Drive, for $1,395,000 to Jillian Pivnick, as trustee of The LBK Trust, which has a Toronto, Ontario, address. The unit has three bedrooms, four bathrooms, 3,045 square feet of living area and was built in 1996. It last sold for $1.55 million in October 2003.
Grand Bay
Allen and Claudine Siegel, of Westport, Conn., bought Unit 463 in Building IV at Grand Bay condominium, 3010 Grand Bay Blvd., from Ward and Patricia Maxson, of Charleston, W.V., for $1.1 million. Built in 1999, the unit has three bedrooms, three-and-a-half baths and 2,369 square feet of living area. The unit last sold for $925,000 in August 2001.
The Castillian
Teresa Cannon, of Wilmette, Ill., sold her condominium Unit 401 at The Castillian, 4525 Gulf of Mexico Drive, for $775,00 to Laurence and Monica Weigand, of Fort Wayne, Ind. The unit has three bedrooms, two-and-a-half bathrooms, 1,738 square feet of living area and was built in 1979. It last sold for $650,000 in March 2003.
Seaplace
David Langhaug and his wife, Jean Shorr, who list the property as their residence, sold their Unit G8-205 in Building VI at Seaplace, 1925 Gulf of Mexico Drive, to Kathleen Naso, of Venice, for $470,000. The unit, built in 1978, has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and 1,257 square feet of living area. It last sold for $440,000 in May 2009.
The Beach at Longboat Key
Englewood Partners LLC, a Florida limited-liability company, sold Unit 104 at The Beach at Longboat Key, 3465 Gulf of Mexico Drive, for $200,000 to Beach Group Holding Company LLC, also a Florida limited-liability company, which has a Sarasota address. Built in 1950, Unit 104 has 340 square feet of living area. It previously sold for $499,900 in January 2006.
In total, Beach Group Holding Company LLC bought three units at The Beach at Longboat Key this recording week. In the second transaction, Beach Group Holding bought Unit 224 for $200,000 from Northwood Partners LLC, a Florida limited-liability company. Built in 1950, Unit 224 has 410 square feet of living area. It last sold for $549,000 in January 2006.
Beach Group Holding also bought Unit 102 for $200,000 from Rosemead Partners LLC, a Florida limited-liability company. Built in 1950, Unit 102 has 315 square feet of living area. It last sold for $499,900 in January 2006.
Inn on the Beach
Karen Lange and Sigrid Knuti, as general partners of the Arthur and Hilde Erickson Family LLLP, a Colorado limited partnership with an Owatonna, Minn., address, sold Unit 5301 at Inn on the Beach, 250 Sands Point Road, for $185,000. Buyers were George Alt and Chadwick Lange Jr., as trustees of the Chadwick S. Lange Jr. 1993 Irrevocable Trust, also with an Owatonna, Minn., address. Built in 1982, the unit has 713 square feet of living area. It last sold for $115,000 in September 2001.

Donna Bartel Walker, as successor trustee of the Harry J. Bartel Revocable Trust, and Nancy J. Gumm, of Chicago, each sold a half-interest in the home at 55 N. Washington Drive for a total $450,000 to Ashwini and Leslie Bahl, of Plant City. Built in 1960, the house has six bedrooms, five-and-a-half bathrooms and 3,071 square feet of living area. The property last sold for $195,000 in January 1988.
