Local water skiers qualify for National Championships

Three members of the Sarasota Ski A Rees Water Ski Show Team recently qualified to compete in the 36^th Division 1 Show Ski National Championships Aug. 13-15 in Janesville, Wis.

Lakewood Ranch High senior Kirsten Hannabass will be competing in Adagio Doubles and the Swivel. Jeff Maglione, a sophomore at the State College of Florida, will be competing in Adagio Doubles while Riverview High sophomore Justin Pruse will be competing in Freestyle Jumping.

Hannabass, Maglione and Pruse qualified for the National Championships after placing in the top positions at the Southern Regional Tournament June 26-27 in Montgomery, Ala. The three water skiers will now spend the next month perfecting their skills before competing against 13 other water skiers from across the nation.
