School-yard scare
1:10 p.m. — 1000 block of South Euclid Avenue. Suspicious Person. An elementary-school administrator reported that a naked man was seen outside the school cafeteria. While she was on the phone with police, the naked man sat down on the ground and began eating.
Late-night snack
10:14 p.m. — 800 block of South Tamiami Trail. Suspicious Incident. A fast-food worker called police after someone in the drive-thru lane fell asleep at the wheel.
June 1
Speed demon
6:30 a.m. — 700 block of Siesta Drive. Criminal Mischief. A speedster apparently didn’t take kindly to a speed-sign trailer the police department set up at the above address. An officer said that after the Memorial Day weekend, someone flipped over the trailer and its batteries were on the ground. There are no suspects.
Immovable object
10:36 a.m. — 200 block of Wallace Avenue. Suspicious Person. A man in a wheelchair was sitting in the middle of the road and he refused to move. He had a can in his hand. The complainant didn’t know if it was an alcoholic beverage.
Camping out
10:56 a.m. — 7800 block of South Holiday Drive. Burglary. The complainant discovered that someone had apparently been living in a storage area for a long time. A Halloween mask was found there, as well as a microwave, coffee maker, radio, clothing and bed. Which one of these does not belong?
Mother superior
7:27 p.m. — 6500 block of South Lockwood Ridge. Family Disturbance. A mother and daughter got into a heated argument, because mom wanted the 18-year-old daughter to break up with her boyfriend. The mother told her daughter if she wanted to keep living in her home, she could not associate with her boyfriend any longer. The daughter would not back down, and mom said if she continued to see the young man, then the daughter would have to give back mom’s car. The daughter gave the car back, and she began moving her belongings into a friend’s house.
