7:19 a.m. — Off the Key. Boat. A woman reported that a boat had run aground near her seawall. The owner agreed to move it after explaining it ran aground due to a strong tide the night before.
Couple’s quarrel
8:53 a.m. — 2200 block of GMD. Disturbance. A couple told police they were arguing in a condominium parking lot earlier that day but that physical violence had not ensued.
Fire starter
6:19 p.m. — 6200 block of GMD. Fire. A downed power line caused a small brush fire.
Canine contention
6:40 p.m. — 6600 block of GMD. Traffic Violation. Police repeatedly told a woman she could not take her dog on any Longboat Key beach. Despite police warnings, the woman had to be told to leave private property, where she attempted to take her dog onto the beach.
June 12
Home bound
3:41 a.m. — 1700 block of GMD. Suspicious Person. Police found a drunk woman walking along Gulf of Mexico Drive and assisted her in getting back to Sarasota. Police called a family member, who agreed to come and make sure the woman got home OK.
Animal instinct
10:22 a.m. — 700 block of Norton Street. Animal Bite. A woman reported that a dog came charging down the road from a neighboring home while she was on a walk with her husband and bit her on her lower lip. The woman explained the incident occurred when she attempted to stop the dog by putting her hands out in front of her. Police saw no evidence of a dog bite. The woman said it was a small puncture wound, and the woman went home to put ice on it.
Pool party’s over
4:01 p.m. — 600 block of Cedar Court. Disturbance. The manager of a condominium told a couple he did not want them coming back to the pool area because they didn’t live there and used foul language. They agreed not to come back while police stood by.
Help from my friends
5:14 p.m. — 100 block of North Shore Road. Public Drunkenness. A woman told police she had too much to drink, and her friends, who were also drinking, tried to help her onto a Jet Ski. Her friends dropped her, and she fell face first in the sand. Paramedics evaluated the woman.

Trespass warnings
12:27 p.m. — 4700 block of GMD. Trespassing. Seven people were issued trespass warnings for being on private property near the Atlas Street beach access.
Work it out
4:35 p.m. — 2700 block of GMD. Trespassing. Despite a worker’s claim, police informed him that the homeowner did not want him on the property unless he is working.
Strange sightings
7:11 p.m. — 10 block of GMD. Traffic Violation. A driver who police noticed had been watching people go in and out of The Chart House was issued citations for driving recklessly on St. Armands Circle. He was also arrested for driving with a suspended driver’s license. Police found a knife, a marijuana cigarette, rolling papers, a cigar and a McDonald’s restaurant serving tray in his car.
Argument assistance
9:03 p.m. — 10 block of GMD. Traffic Violation. Police requested the assistance of the Sarasota Police Department when issuing speeding and careless driving citations to an argumentative driver.

Family affair
10:02 a.m. — 500 Ketch Lane. Trespassing. A woman informed police she only wanted her son living at her house and didn’t give him permission to allow another couple and their four children to live there, too. The son agreed to make the family leave.
