Cal Ripken Rookie All-Stars advance to state tournament

The Manatee Cal Ripken Rookie Division All-Stars captured the District 15 tournament June 19-20 in Lake City.

The team, comprised of 7 and 8 year olds, will now advance to the state tournament over the Fourth of July weekend in Palm Beach Gardens. This is the first time in the history of the league that a team has advanced past the district tournament. If the team should advance out of the state tournament, they will travel to the Southeast Regional tournament July 15 in Greenville, N.C.
