Defending National Champions set to take the ice

Defending U.S. Figure Skating National Champions and World and Olympic pairs team members Caydee Denney and Jeremy Barrett will debut their program for the 2010 season during a sanctioned simulation at 4:30 p.m., June 30.

The Ellenton Ice and Sports Complex and the Southwest Florida Figure Skating Club’s best and brightest figure skaters will be performing at the event. Joining Denney and Barrett on the ice will be: 

Maria Wirries, Noah Chinault, Ciara Myers and Emma Chinault — intermediate freeskate

Danny O’Shea — junior short program

Cirinia Gillett, Haley Beavers and Grace Knoop — juvenile freeskate

Brendan Fagan and Ashlyn Gaughan — novice short program

Kat Wagner, Caroline Knoop and Paul Schatz — junior short program

Daniel Raad and Michael Chau — senior short program

Haven Denney and Danny O’Shea — junior pairs

Paige Lawrence and Rudi Sweigers and Caydee Denney and Jeremy Barrett — senior pairs

The simulation will be a replica of a figure skating competition complete with a distinguished panel of U.S. Figure Skating judges, who will critique each person’s program.

Admission is $5 and limited tickets are available at the Ellenton Ice and Sports Complex, 5309 29th St. E. Proceeds from the event will help offset the skaters’ training expenses.
