Hope Allen wanted RHA Boutique to be a neighborhood destination. So, she planted it right across the street from Morton’s Market in Southside Village and dressed the interior with her favorite fashions and accessories.

If there’s one item this fashionista and her clients can’t get enough of, it’s the Tolani scarves.

“It’s something worn by every celebrity,” Allen said. “I sell hundreds of those — they are all made by skilled weavers and vary in tone, size and finish. You can order for of the same scarf, but every one is going to be just a little bit different.”

Allen first noticed the scarves at a Florida market.

“I saw a woman wearing one, and my eye was just so drawn to the design of the scarf I had to ask her about it,” Allen said. “We have a couple summer scarves on the shelves right now, but the fall selection will start arriving in August.”

The contemporary/missy sports wear boutique opened June 1, 2009, and carries Hobo Handbags and lines by designers like Barbara Lesser, Spanner, Petit Pois and Hardtail. Average prices range from $40 for tops to $150 for jeans.

“I had a boutique back in Kansas, where I’m originally from, but I wanted to be more of a neighborhood destination here, which is kind of what I established,” Allen said. “The first year has been awesome.”
