Lady Mustangs shut out Lady Tigers

The Lakewood Ranch High softball team shut out host Palmetto 16-0 in a non-district game March 2.

Brittany Kilduff pitched a no-hitter to earn the win for the Lady Mustangs.

Corey Hanewich went 1-for-3 with a triple, a stolen base, four RBIs and a pair of runs scored; and Becca Slowik went 2-for-4 with four RBIs and two runs scored to lead the way for Lakewood at the plate.

Kayla Schappacher went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs scored. Rachel Slowik went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. Dana Hutchins went 2-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and a pair of runs scored. Taylor Newton went 2-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored. Quillan Toler went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored; and Jenn Trotter and Stacie Nelson each scored a run.

The Lady Mustangs improve to 8-1-1 (1-0) on the season. Lakewood will return to action at 7 p.m., tomorrow night versus Seminole Osceola.
