+ Domenico Geminiani wins Junior Golf Tournament
Heritage Harbour resident Domenico Geminiani won his fourth tournament of the Florida Junior Tour (13-15) season March 6-7 at Lake Wales Country Club.
Geminiani shot a 6-under par 138 to win the two-day tournament by one stroke, sinking a 10-foot putt on the final hole. With the win, Geminiani will reclaim his No. 1 ranking in the National Junior Scoreboard Ranking for the class of 2014.
+ Tennis Series heads to Palm-Aire
The fifth event of the $12,000 GETTEL NISSAN tennis series will be held March 13-14 at the Palm-Aire Country Club.
The world-class mixed doubles tennis tournament will feature the sister/brother team of Weyli and Weylu Chang versus The Out-of-Door Academy’s Caroline Dailey and Sarasota resident Erik Luxembourg. The match will be held at 10 a.m., March 13.
The winners will play Witney Biles and Ty Braswell at 11 a.m., March 14 for the championship. The tournament is free and open to the public.

+ Manatee wins Central Division title
The Manatee County high school hockey team defeated Wharton 4-2 March 6 at the Ice Sports Forum in Brandon to capture the Lightning Conference Central Division Championship.
Chase Anderson scored Manatee County’s first goal of the afternoon in the first period. Anderson and Vasilli Malliaras added goals in the second period. Anderson completed his hat trick in the third period, giving Manatee County a 4-1 advantage.
Wharton scored its second goal in the final period, but the Wildcats were unable to come back. With the win, Manatee County will be the top seed in the Combined team State Tournament March 19-21 at the Tampa Bay Skating Academy in Oldsmar.
+ Christian fellowship to hosts free tennis clinic
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes will host a free tennis clinic from 12:30-3 p.m., March 27, at Palm-Aire Country Club, 5601 Country Club Way, Sarasota.
The clinic, which is open to children ages 5-18 of all skill levels, will feature a fun day of tennis complete with tennis instruction, hitting and character development.
FCA-Tennis will be introducing its new tennis school, which will feature both morning and after school programs.
