Longboat Key home sells for $6.65 million

George and Elizabeth Tomaszewicz, of Longboat Key, sold their home at 2735 Gulf of Mexico Drive to Linda Scott, trustee of the Florida Land Trust Agreement, of Longboat Key, for $6.65 million. The sale, recorded April 28, at the Sarasota County Courthouse, marks a 2010 record on Longboat Key.

The Gulf-front house was built in 2008 and has six bedrooms, six bathrooms, three half-baths and a swimming pool. The home has a total building area of 11,450 square feet, including 6,735 square feet of living area.

There were 16 transactions recorded during the week of May 3 through May 7, at the Sarasota and Manatee county courthouses on Longboat, Lido, St. Armands and Bird keys. The overall number of sales was up from last week’s total of 11. Of this week’s sales, 13 took place on Longboat Key, with nine on the southern Sarasota County side of the island and four on the northern Manatee County portion. An additional two sales occurred on Lido Key, and one occurred on St. Armands Key.

Longboat Key Towers
George and Sharon Kerckhove, of Onalaska, Wis., sold Unit S-901 at Longboat Key Towers, 601 Club Longboat Road, to Mary Talarico, of Washington, D.C., for $1.35 million. The 2,420-square-foot residence has three bedrooms and three bathrooms and was built in 1970. The unit last sold for $750,000 in May 1998.

Grand Bay
Patrick and Yvonne Walsh sold Unit 171 at Grand Bay, 3060 Grand Bay Blvd., located behind the Harbourside gates of the Longboat Key Club and Resort, to Rene and Carol Catafago, of Montreal, for $1,065,000. Built in 1994, the three-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath condominium has 2,781 square feet of living space. It last sold for $1,245,000 in March 2005.

Sanctuary
Arthur and Carol Brock, 700 John Ringling Blvd., sold Unit A-402 at Sanctuary IV to Renee Crames for $995,000. Built in 1990, the three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath unit has 2,580 square feet of living space. The residence last sold new for $465,000 in July 1990.

Corey’s Landing
Amy Waters, of East Aurora, N.Y., sold her home at 3565 Mistletoe Lane in Corey’s Landing to Barry and Bridget Schnepel, of Peoria, Ill., for $845,000. Built in 1991, the three-bedroom, four-bathroom home has a swimming pool and 3,158 square feet of living area. The home last sold for $785,000 in December 2003.

Longboat Shores
Craig and Janice Abbott, 600 Buttonwood Drive, sold the home at 624 Buttonwood Drive to Patrick and Yvonne Walsh for $712,500. The 2,368-square-foot home was built in 1991 and has three bedrooms, three bathrooms and a swimming pool. The residence last sold for $218,571 in November 1991.

Cedars West
Audrey Davidson, as trustee of the A&ALBK Irrevocable Trust, of Toronto, paid $755,000 to U.S. Bank N.A. and Stephen Fisher, as trustees of the Patricia Apple Revocable Trust, of Milwaukee, for Unit 101 in Building C of Cedars West, 5655 Gulf of Mexico Drive. Built in 1975, the condominium has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and 1,628 square feet of living space. The unit sold for $345,000 in July 1992.

Aquarius Club
Phillip and Julia Boersma, of Lake Forest, Ill., sold Unit 4-A at the Aquarius Club, 1701 Gulf of Mexico Drive, to Theav Beteiligungs Invest GMBH, an Austrian limited-liability company, for $750,000. The two-bedroom, two-bath condominium has 1,492 square feet of living space. The unit last sold for $295,000 in May 1993.

The Austrian company also bought Unit 2-A at the Aquarius Club from Michelle Marquis, of Sarasota, for $600,000. The 1,492-square-foot unit has two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
The Aquarius Club was built in 1975.

Spanish Main Yacht Club
Dolly Inscoe, of Charlottesville, Va., sold her home at 940 Spanish Drive at Spanish Main Yacht Club to William Rieder, of New York City, for $565,000. Built in 1968, the two-bedroom, two-bath home has 1,421 square feet of living space. The unit sold for $168,500 in July 1993.

Fairway Bay
Mark and Shawn Weller, of Cincinnati, sold Unit 1204 at Fairway Bay, 1924 Harbourside Drive, to Mihaela Risca, of Port Washington, N.Y., for $350,000. Built in 1982, the 1,375-square-foot unit has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It last sold for $590,000 in March
2006.

Cedars East
Jeffrey and Claire Groves, of Indianapolis, sold Unit 16 in Building 2 of Cedars East condominium, 525 Forest Way, to Edward and Linda O’Connor, of Hayesville, N.C., for $247,500. The two-bedroom, two-bathroom condominium was built in 1990 and has 1,440 square feet of living space. It last sold for $260,000 in August 2003.

Whitney Beach condominium
Harlan Woyahn Jr. and Richard Reilly, co-trustees of the Woyahn Revocable Trust, sold their half-interest, and Harlan Woyahn Jr., of Waukesha, Wis., and Cathy Woyahn, of Milton, N.Y., each individually sold their quarter-interest in Unit 183 at Whitney Beach condominium, 6800 Gulf of Mexico Drive, to Vincent Cavallo, of Lancaster, Pa., for $225,000. The 1,431-square-foot apartment has three bedrooms and two bathrooms and was built in
1970.

The Colony Beach & Tennis Resort
Susan Goodman, of Ocean Grove, N.J., sold Unit 112-S at The Colony Beach & Tennis Resort, 1620 Gulf of Mexico Drive, for $34,000 to O’Donnell Colony Holdings LLC, a Florida limited-liability company with a post-office address of 2165 Gulf of Mexico Drive. The 705-square-foot unit was built in 1973. It last sold for $55,000 in June 2008.

Beach Residences
Joel and Sylvia Shapiro, of Jacksonville, sold Unit 402 at the Beach Residences, 1300 Benjamin Franklin Drive on Lido Key, to Donald and Sharon Tomnitz, of Dallas, for $1.3 million. Built in 2005, the 3,964-square-foot condominium has three bedrooms and three bathrooms. It last sold for $1.95 million in December 2005.

L’Elegance on Lido Beach
Mitchell Rappel and Susan Glass, of Green Brook, N.J., sold Unit A-1003 at L’Elegance on Lido Beach, 1800 Benjamin Franklin Drive, to Steven and Becky Thomas, of Austin, Texas, for $605,000. The two-bedroom, two-bathroom condominium was built in 1996 and has 1,350 square feet of living space. The unit sold for $625,000 in May 2003.

St. Armands Key
Ashwini and Leslie Bahl, of Plant City, sold their home at 89 N. Washington Drive to Walter and Susana Spivak, of Ontario, Canada, for $550,000. Built in 1957, the 3,759-square-foot home has four bedrooms, three bathrooms and two half-baths. The residence sold for $650,000 in January.
