+ Parent volunteers receive rewards for their efforts
Time, talent and dedication goes a long way at Phillippi Shores Elementary School. Geidy Rodriguez and Catherine Ellis received citizenship certificates and medals Monday, May 24, for their exemplary contributions to Michael Gangi’s first-grade class during the past school year.

Both parents assisted in class projects, such as the IB solar-system project, holiday celebrations and reading sessions. Ellis assisted in the school’s first “Feed the Animals” campaign, which collected more than 300 pounds of food, along with blankets, towels, toys and animal snacks plus for the Humane Society of Sarasota County.
