Noreen and Roger Slaalien Jr. sold their home at 1345 Westway Drive in the Lido C Division to Christine Buckley for $4.95 million. The price was the second highest year-to-date sale price for a home on Westway Drive, the first being the sale recorded Jan. 28 of the home at 1333 Westway Drive, to Colleen Ofield, of Richmond Hill, Ontario, for $8.4 million.

Built in 2001, the 5,268-square-foot home has 100 feet along New Pass and has four bedrooms, five bathrooms, one half-bath and a swimming pool. The Slaaliens paid $3.25 million for the home to the United States of America, as represented by the U.S. Marshals office in Tampa, which turned over the warranty deed guaranteeing clear title to the property in September 2009.

Prior to the Slaalien’s purchase, the home had been owned by Robert Trosten, the former Refco chief financial officer who pleaded guilty to fraud charges in 2008. As part of the plea deal, Trosten and former Refco CEO Phillip Bennett agreed to the forfeiture of $37 million in assets.
