Cindy Morton, an agent with Signature Sotheby’s International Realty, planted the first TAG sign at her listing in The Dominion in the Country Club of Lakewood Ranch.

Passers-by now can get all the information they need about the house at 12715 Deacons Place — a 3,581-square-foot, three bedroom, three-bathroom golf course home — by using their iPhones to scan in the TAG sign.

Microsoft’s Tag technology is a new two-dimensional barcoding tool. Individuals can download the software from Microsoft’s App Store for iPhones or by going to GETTAG.MOBI for other phones.

“When people are looking for homes, many times they drive through communities,” Morton said. “(With this TAG sign) they can find out immediately everything about this home. It tells them right away if it’s a house that meets their specifications.”

Candice McElyea, public relations and promotion manager for Schroeder-Manatee Ranch, said the tag signs also are in use at all the community’s new model homes.
