Oct. 19
Swan crossing
11:44 a.m. — 2300 block of Harbour Oaks Drive. Animal Rescue. Police guided a swan back to a golf course after it wandered onto a nearby street. Upon return, the swan flew into a retention pond.

Agency assistance
9:34 p.m. — Off the Key. Assist Other Agency. Police stood by as a Bradenton Beach officer conducted a domestic-violence investigation.

Oct. 20
Barking mad
8:32 a.m. — 500 block of Companion Way. Animal Nuisance. A man reported that his neighbor’s dogs were barking continually. The dogs’ owner apologized and said that she had left her window open because of the cooler weather. She discussed plans for preventing future barking problems.

Cruise control
10:06 a.m. — 3400 block of Gulf of Mexico Drive. Found Property. Police found an abandoned beach cruiser bicycle and brought it to the police department for safekeeping. A records check showed that the bicycle was not stolen.

Signing off
11:36 a.m. — Broadway and Poinsettia Avenue. Larceny. A Village resident reported that four Vote Yes for Proposition 4 signs had been stolen. Police spoke with several residents who could not provide information.

Stairway surprise
3:50 p.m. — 4400 block of GMD. Theft. A man reported that his bicycle was stolen from inside his condominium stairwell. The man last saw the bicycle in August. The building maintenance supervisor said that numerous contractors and workers have been in and out of the building over the past months.

Oct. 21
Traffic control
9:37 p.m. — Off the Key. Assist Other Agency. Police assisted with traffic control after a crash occurred on New Pass Bridge.

Oct. 22
Pay to play
1:32 p.m. — 500 block of Bay Isles Parkway. Trespassing. A security officer confronted a man who had not paid to play golf on the golf course. The man told the security officer that he would soon be a member of the golf club and that he had a free pass to play. The security officer told the man to leave and followed him until he got to a grocery store. Police could not find the man’s vehicle.

Oct. 23
Break time
11:42 a.m. — Longboat Drive South and Cedar Street. Suspicious Vehicle. Police located a van and its driver, who was reportedly “just sitting there” near a restaurant on Broadway. The driver said that he was taking a break from mowing lawns in the area.

Oct. 24
Parental rights
4:26 a.m. — 5200 block of Gulf of Mexico Drive. Disturbance. Police responded to reports of yelling and loud noise and found two teenagers — one male and one female — leaving the area in a 2003 Mitsubishi. The female told police that her parents owned the property and knew she was staying there. Police contacted her father, who said she did not have permission to stay there.

Bad parking job
3:16 p.m. — Avenue of the Flowers. Parking Violation. Police responded to a call about an illegally parked truck and attached trailer. Police found the owner’s boat slip but could not locate the owner. Neighbors told police that they would notify the owner about the vehicle.

Broken communication
8:59 p.m. — Longboat Pass Bridge. Disturbance. A man told a bridge tender that “people like you get their vehicle tail lights broken out” before leaving the area after the bridge tender warned the man, who was accompanied by two small children, not to fish between barriers on the bridge span. The bridge tender told police that he gets frustrated when people fish from the bridge.

Oct. 25
Airport security
11:16 a.m. — 1400 block of Gulf of Mexico Drive. Missing Property. A woman told police that she lost a $3,000 gold-and-diamond bracelet in a Miami airport five days earlier. An airport employee told the woman’s husband to leave a message for Lost and Found after an airport employee said that he had found the bracelet, however, the couple did not receive a call back. Another airport employee told police that no bracelet matched its description.

Wallet whereabouts
12:24 p.m. — 200 block of Sands Point Road. Missing Property. A man told police that he lost his wallet, possibly while painting. The brown leather wallet contained identification cards and credit and debit cards.

False alarm
1:26 p.m. — 3500 block of Mistletoe Lane. Suspicious Circumstance. Police responded to a house alarm and found a ladder and evidence that fresh stucco was being laid.

Unlocked door
4:27 a.m. — 800 block of Broadway. Security Check. Police found the back door of a restaurant open and secured the door and exit without incident.
