The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

BRIARWOOD
Reported Nov. 3
 4:20 p.m.
— 5800 block of 28th Lane East. Theft. An unknown person stole a two-ton air-conditioning unit from the residence. The person then fled the scene in an unknown direction by unknown means. According to the complainant, he was at the residence cutting the grass about a month prior to this incident but after the renters moved out. When he returned on Oct. 27, he noticed the unit was gone; however, he didn’t call law enforcement because the house is in a short sale.

GATES CREEK
Nov. 8
 7 a.m.
— 300 block of 116th Street East. Burglary to an unoccupied dwelling. The complainant reported unknown person(s) entered his residence by forcing the front window open. He stated the person(s) stole two rings from his bedroom valued at $550. The responding deputy processed the scene and obtained two latent print cards.

LAKEWOOD RANCH
Nov. 2
 12 p.m.
— 5500 Lakewood Ranch Blvd. (Lakewood Ranch High). Possession of marijuana less than 20 grams. The suspect allegedly found a small baggies of suspected marijuana near the trash container of the school’s 400 building at about 7:45 a.m. The suspect had a conference at about 11:15 a.m. with the complainant about a school matter when the suspect disclosed he found “a bag of green stuff.”

5:18 p.m. — 11205 S.R. 70 E. (Publix). Uttering a forged instrument. An unknown black male, who appeared to be in his early 20s, entered the store and selected a plant, two $100 American Express gift cards and two sodas. The suspect then walked to the checkout lane, where the cashier proceeded to process the purchase. A manager was notified due to the method of payment being a personal check. The suspect and store managers went to customer service. At that point, the suspect fled the store when the managers would not return the suspicious check. The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle.

RIVER CLUB
Reported Nov. 2
 11:55 a.m.
— The intersection of River Club Boulevard and Pine Valley Street. Found property. The deputy responded to the area south of the intersection in reference to two bicycles that had been sitting by the pond for about two weeks and hadn’t been moved. The deputy collected the bicycles from the bank of the bond. The serial numbers were processed and produced negative results. The bicycles were placed into property and evidence at the bike barn for safekeeping.

OTHER
Nov. 8
 4:13 p.m.
— 2911 53rd Ave. E. (Walmart). Retail theft. When the female suspect reached the food section of the store, she concealed multiple items in her purse. She then proceeded to the point of sale where she purchased some items in her cart but failed to pay for the concealed items. She then exited the store when the complainant detained her until law enforcement arrived. The total of the stolen items is $31.40. The suspect was read Miranda, but she refused to talk. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Manatee County Jail.
