Nov. 2
Job hunt
9:33 p.m. — 500 block of Bay Isles Parkway.
Suspicious Person. A man called to report a suspicious person hanging out near the entrance of a grocery store. The man told police he was waiting for a cleaning crew that hired him through a temporary agency. The man’s story checked out.

Nov. 3
Cowboys and Indians
8:32 p.m. — 700 block of Compass Road
. Suspicious Circumstance. A woman told police that she believes her husband or someone in his family entered her home and took a $5,000 bronze cowboy/Indian statue, a $50 battery charger and $500 in miscellaneous men’s clothing. The woman and her husband are in the middle of a divorce.

10:33 p.m. — 4000 block of GMD.
Highway Obstruction. Police believe a dump truck used for a road-resurfacing project may have knocked down a hanging tree branch, which was blocking a driveway and partially in the bicycle lane on Gulf of Mexico Drive.

Trim notice
1:06 p.m. — 5000 block of GMD
. Civil Disturbance. A woman called police to report that a tree service company was using her lot to trim her neighbor’s trees. She was worried that someone might get hurt and she would be liable. The company was allowed to finish the work.

Nov. 5
Undercover
11:25 a.m. — 3500 block of Fair Oaks Court
. Suspicious Circumstance. Police responded to a report of an unconscious person under a quilt in a vacant home. The unconscious person, however, turned out to be several boxes of junk that resembled a person.

Nov. 6
Troublemaker
2:27 p.m. — 200 block of Sands Point Road.
Trespassing. Resort employees told police a drunken trespasser was causing trouble at a hotel. He was issued a trespass warning, packed up his belongings and left in a taxicab.

Nov. 7
Delivery service
4:21 p.m. — 4700 block of GMD
. Civil Disturbance. A woman told police she got into an argument with her friend and was asked to leave the hotel room in which they were staying. She told police she noticed she was missing some of her belongings and couldn’t make contact with her upset friend. Police picked up the belongings and returned them to her.

Nov. 8
Expiration date
8:44 a.m. — 4000 block of GMD
. Traffic Violation. Police pulled over a man for driving with an expired tag that was hanging onto the bumper by one bolt. The driver’s passenger served as an interpreter, and police determined the driver had never had a driver’s license. He was placed under arrest, and a tow truck picked up his vehicle.

Sleep aid
8:01 p.m. — 500 block of Cedar Street.
Suspicious Vehicle. A woman called police to report a man sitting in his car in the parking lot of a closed shopping center. The man told police he was a construction worker for a church’s sanctuary project and was planning on staying in the car overnight, because he got into an argument with the co-worker with whom he was staying. Police explained that the town didn’t allow overnight camping and helped him secure a place to sleep in Bradenton.
