Lakewood Ranch wins district title

The Lakewood Ranch High boys golf team shot a combined 301 to capture the Class 2A-District 14 title Oct. 18 at Kingsway Country Club in Lake Suzy.

It was the Mustangs’ first district championship since 2003. Lakewood just edged past Sarasota Riverview who finished with a 302.

Lakewood freshman Ramsey Touchberry won the individual title with a 2-under par 70. Danny Walker finished with a 76 followed by Connor Baldwin (77), Kyle Benson (78) and Dylan Hogan (88).

The Mustangs will now advance to the Class 2A-Region 5 tournament at Misty Creek Country Club Oct. 25.
