Real Estate:Sales fall to eight during first full week of October

Sales dropped to eight for the week of Oct. 4 through Oct. 8, down from the previous week’s total of 14. Of the sales recorded on Longboat, Lido, St. Armands and Bird keys at the Sarasota and Manatee county courthouses, five occurred on Longboat Key, one of which was a boat slip, and three took place on Lido Key. Three of the week’s five Longboat Key sales took place in Manatee County. None of the week’s sales exceeded $1 million.

Lido Key
In the largest sale of the week, Lynn Ford sold her home at 1212 Center Place in the Lido C subdivision to Ralph Hoenle for $640,000. Built in 1957, the 1,677-square-foot home has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a swimming pool. It last sold for $1.06 million in April 2007.
Also in the Lido C subdivision, Fred Cooper and Irene O’Brien, of Napa, Calif., as tenants in common, sold the home at 315 Morningside Drive to Leslie and Carol Bowen, of Concord, Mass., for $510,000. Built in 1965, the 2,556-square-foot home has three bedrooms, two-and-a-half bathrooms and a swimming pool. It last sold for $947,500 in January 2006.

Privateer South
Jack and Marlene Robinson, of Dunwoody, Ga., sold Apartment 803 at the Privateer South, 1000 Longboat Club Road, to Salvatore and Maria Pirruccio, of Wayne, N.J., for $470,000. Built in 1972, the 1,409-square-foot unit has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It last sold for $240,000 in March 1999.

Sleepy Lagoon
Chandler Swain, individually and as successor trustee of the Valerie Lawson Trust, of Almonte, Ontario, sold the home at 6500 Gulfside Road in the Sleepy Lagoon subdivision to Patrick and Sandy Bogert, of Erin, Ontario, for $400,000. Built in 1967, the home has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and 1,015 square feet of living space. It last sold for $53,700 in September 1978.

Longboat Pass
John and Patricia Nicholas, of Sarasota, sold Unit 3 at the nine-unit Longboat Pass condominium, 380 North Shore Road, to Cindy Gibson, Robyn Doran and Jennifer Kriel, all of Trinity, as tenants in common, for $230,000. Built in 1969, the 794-square-foot unit has one bedroom and one bathroom. It last sold for $430,000 in October 2005.

Gulf Key condominium
Carol Erker, of Lake Barrington, Ill., sold Unit 4 at the 10-unit Gulf Key condominium, located mid-Key at 540 Neptune Ave., to Jeffrey and Maureen Stewart, of Brandon, for $225,000. Built in 1972, the 1,044-square-foot unit has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It last sold for $222,000 in May 2003.

Longbeach Village
John and Philomena Perry sold their home at 671 Fox St. in the historic Longbeach Village to Thomas and Paula Skillman, of Burke, Va., for $180,000. Built in 1970, the 1,574-square-foot home has two bedrooms and one
bathroom.

Boathouse on Longboat
At the 194-slip Boathouse on Longboat, 408 Gulf of Mexico Drive, Sarah Healy, of Lexington, Ky., sold Unit 1227 to Pamela and H. William Mutz, of Lakeland, for $30,000. It last sold for $23,500 in September 1999.
