The Lakewood Ranch High girls cross country team scored 17 points to capture the Manatee County Championship Oct. 27 at G.T. Bray.
Olivia Ortiz was crowned the county’s individual champion, crossing the finish line in 18:25.34. Ortiz was followed by teammates Kristen Zarella (18:27.65), Devin McDermott (19:18.14) and Ashley Platt (20:35.14). Emily Perez rounded out the scoring for Lakewood, finishing seventh in 22:08.68.
The Lady Mustangs will return to action in the Class 3A-District 5 meet Nov. 4 at Lakewood.
