The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
LAKE CLUB
Aug. 21
5 p.m. — 16100 block of Foremast Place. Burglary (unoccupied). Unknown person(s) entered the garage through an unlocked door in the rear of the garage, took items, including a bike, and left through the same door.
MAGNOLIA MANOR
Aug. 23
12:44 p.m. — 5500 block of 18th Avenue East. Criminal mischief. The victim stated she left the house to go eat lunch with her daughter at school. When she returned home, she noticed the back dining room window was smashed. The victim stated about a week ago, she had a peeping tom situation, and her brother chased the suspect. The suspect got away, and the victim said it was too dark outside to identify him, but she did report it. Dispatch was not able to find a report or call for the address.
SABAL HARBOUR
Aug. 23
8 p.m. — 4800 block of Bookelia Circle. Vehicle burglary. Unknown suspect(s) entered the victim’s vehicle without permission through an unlocked door and stole property.
SILVER LAKE
Aug. 22
7 p.m. — 5900 block of Lockwood Ridge Road. Criminal mischief. A third-party caller stated six decorative lights to the entrance of the Silver Lake community were damaged by unknown persons. A deputy observed no tire tracks in the grass area surrounding the lights. The tops of six lights were knocked off by unknown means. The third-party caller was not at the scene when the deputy arrived.
TURNBURY PARK APARTMENTS
Aug. 22
7:34 p.m. — 6100 block of Turnbury Park Drive. Petit theft. The complainant reported her daughter’s bike was stolen. The victim said she was inside her home when she noticed a white male staring at her through the window. She said when she noticed him, he moved out of sight. The complainant said she went outside of the apartment and when she got to the stairwell, she saw an unknown male pedaling away on her daughter’s bicycle. She had never seen him before.
OTHER
Aug. 23
1:36 p.m. — 8300 block of Lockwood Ridge Road (Walmart). Retail theft. Store security observed the defendant concealing items in his pockets and down his pants. The defendant then exited the store without making payment for the concealed merchandise and was confronted outside the store and escorted back inside, where he was arrested without incident.
Aug. 24
8:39 a.m. — 8300 block of Lockwood Ridge Road (Walmart). Retail theft and resist retail merchant. The defendant was observed by store security exiting the store without paying for items in his possession. After being confronted outside the store, the defendant resisted detention and was held on the ground by several employees until deputies arrived. After the arrest, keys to a nearby vehicle were found in the suspect’s pants pocket. The vehicle was reported as stolen, and security cameras showed the suspect driving the vehicle. The suspect was arrested and the stolen property was returned to the store.
