The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
HIGHLAND RIDGE
Sept. 6
9:30 a.m. — 4200 block of 30th Lane East. Burglary to unoccupied dwelling. Unknown person(s) entered the residence via the rear sliding door by prying it open with an unknown object. An adjacent door to the west bathroom area was pried as well but not opened from the outside. The rooms were ransacked and items taken. A brown cigarillo butt, which did not belong to the victims, was found on the living room floor.
LAKE CLUB
Sept. 6
2:45 p.m. — 16200 block of Foremast Place. Grand theft. The victim reported the theft of her daughter’s iPod Touch. The victim said she believes she knows who stole the item and that person took the item from its charger.
MANATEE OAKS
Sept. 5
2:10 p.m. — 3000 block of 46th Avenue East. Grand theft. The victim reported that she suspects a certain individual of stealing more than $10,000 in jewelry from her home.
Sept. 7
10:12 a.m. — 4600 block of 31st Court East. Burglary of unoccupied dwelling. The victim took her son to school and was gone for a total of 55 minutes. Upon returning home, the victim discovered her home had been burglarized.
RIVER CLUB
Sept. 5
6:17 p.m. — 7200 block of Pine Valley Street. Vehicle burglary. Unknown person(s) entered the unlocked vehicle and took items.
SUMMERFIELD
Sept. 6
10:10 a.m. — 6600 block of Summer Blossom Place. Information. The complainant reported some information on a white male who could be involved in some vandalism activities that happened at the address. The complainant spoke to her neighbor, who gave her some possible information on who could be involved. She believes the white male is a juvenile and she was able to give a possible address.
OTHER
Sept. 6
4:01 p.m. — 8700 block of State Road 70 East (Sweetbay). Seized property (BB gun). While the deputy was sitting at the parking lot of the location, a person approached him and stated that he observed a subject in the parking lot who he could ask for directions. While speaking to the subject, he could see the subject had a handgun in his waistband. The deputy located the subject and approached him, ordering him to put his hands up. The deputy then removed the handgun, which was a BB gun, from his waistband. The deputy then ordered the subject to lie on the ground and placed handcuffs on him to search him for more weapons. The subject’s mother could not be reached. The BB gun was seized and the subject was taken home.
Sept. 7
1:37 p.m. — 2800 block of University Parkway (Iberia Bank). Forgery and uttering a forged check. The suspect passed a forged check and fled from the bank without getting any money.
